I cooked! IN PUBLIC!

March 7, 2017

I was asked to do a cooking demo on Saturday.  Me.  I HATE COOKING. A LOT. What I do like is to eat. A LOT! The topic was air fryers and pressure cookers – well, hell! I can talk about those all dang day!

One thing I’ve done on this LAST time of losing weight – is invest in tools to make my life easier, faster, healthier, better… apple slicer, yup. Mandolin, yup. Pressure cooker, yup. Air fryer, yup.

I made three items during the demo. Spaghetti squash in the pressure cooker – takes 2 minutes! Seriously – two minutes! Cut the squash in half, take out seeds. On my pressure cooker, there is a veggie setting. Put squash in. Add a cup of water. Cook for two minutes. Done.

I made FROZEN CHICKEN BREASTS. I don’t know about y’all – but this gal doesn’t always plan (doh!) and some days as I’m driving the 25+ miles home I have that “OH CRAP” moment…dinner. NO problem! My pressure cooker does frozen chicken breasts like a champ. I drop the chicken in, add a cup of broth, a cup of water and cook for 18 minutes. Easy peasy.

Last, I cut up zucchini and tossed it with olive oil spray and taco seasoning.  I added it to the air fryer for about 12 minutes at 370. SO STINKING GOOD!

There were so many great questions and great comments! No, my house hasn’t blown up from the pressure cooker. Yes, I really do use my air fryer 4-5 times a week. Yes, I’ve cooked ribs and pot roast and stew in my pressure cooker and it’s awesome. No, I don’t regret the purchase. Yes, I’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND both.

I used both on Sunday to do my meal prep. I made some plain chicken breasts in the pressure cooker. Then I went and added each to their own Tupperware and added sugar free bbq sauce (G. Hughes), salsa, spaghetti sauce and Buffalo Sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s). In my air fryer, I made more zuchinni – it’s like crack for me!

I’ve already planned out my meals for the entire week. I don’t let surprise food get me…I’ve always got something with me I can have if hangry happens.

I talk about air fryers and pressure cookers a lot – but they’re my game changers.
